P0420 2000 MAZDA Protege 1.8L

Just i would like to find out the problem of my car. I have Check check engine when scanned with the diagnostic tool and i got 2 codes P0420 & P0455 i dont understand how to fix the problem. Please help me thank you very much

The first code, P0420 is for a faulty catalytic converter. Most likely you will need to replace the converter to solve the problem.

Code P0455 is for a leak in the evap system Several things can cause this code, normally the best approach is to have a shop do a smoke test on the car to determine the cause of the evp leak and then take it from there.
