Code P2049 Description

The Reductant Dosing Valve (Reductant Injection Valve) is used to meter and atomize the reductant liquid before it is mixed with the exhaust gas. Normal operating frequency is between 3 Hz and .3 Hz. The cooling body contains heat sink fins to keep the injector and reductant below the boiling point. If the sensed temperature is nearing the maximum temperature threshold, reductant spray will be increased in quantity to actively cool the valve.
