I have a 2008 Ford escape hybrid ...I took it to the dealer for a no crank situation...on the diag scan they listed fault P1A10 and told me I needed a new traction battery..($10000) ..declined the replacement and had it towed home ....hit the jump start button and it started ...and drove it for 2 months and then again no crank ...same as before ..my question is when the battery control module disables ? How can I get it to reactivate so I can start the car again ?I will replace the old battery with a reconditioned traction battery?..just don't trust that dealer after their last assessment ....thank you

help me find a way to clear the P1A10 code from my hybrid escape so it will start again . when that code is thrown I am told it disables the car from starting..thanks

Unfortunately I never had that problem before and there is no more information in the factory service manual, since this is just an information code, not a code for a malfunction part. You could try disconnecting the car battery (The 12 V battery) for about 5 minutes to reset the code and system.
Here is a good write up about a similar problem with the same code with a 06 model: http://www.underhoodservice...
