I got this code P1574 and P720 at the same time. If I change that Speed Sensor in the Transmission. will that fix both these codes? FRED SEIDELL
-
I have a 2003 nissan altima with the check engine light on, i got the following codes P1574 and P0463. are these problems that i can fix myself
-
P0463 NISSAN - Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Input
Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/p04...
For the P0463 code you may have to replaced the fuel sender unit which is inside the fuel tank. If you don't have much experience, we don't recommend working with the fuel tank because it could lead to fuel or fuel vapor leaks. The P1574 is related to the vehicle speed sensor, which may require working under the vehicle. -
Hey! I got P1574 ASCD Speed Sensor and P0720 and P0328 knock sensor B1, can I just replace the sensors?
-
Which sensor? the speed sensor and knock sensor? In your case usually that is the problem. What model and year is your Nissan?
-
I have codes p0420,p0507 and p1574. I got the speed senor replaced the problem still occurs
-
What model and year is your Nissan? The P0420 and P0507 code have nothing to do with the P1574 code, you may have different issues.
-
Depends what the problem is. The P1574 code means that there is no communication between the control units/modules. Could be a bad module or a broken harness.
-
I got a P 1574 & P 0710 on my Altima 07, what do you think that means? Easy fix or not?
-
It means that you have a problem with the transmission. Both codes are related to the "Transmission Control Module" (TCM) which is inside the transmission. Just to access the TCM to inspect the wires, you need remove the Valve Body. Not an easy fix or inspection.
-
I have a 2004 nissan maxima with code P1574 only. Changed sensor but problem still occurs
-
If you still get the code after replacing the speed sensor, then you may have a problem with the harness from the sensor to the control unit or a problem with the combination meter. The combination meter includes all the gauges and it circuit board that transforms and send the signal from the speed sensor to the Engine Control Module (ECM)

I got the following codes on my 07 nissan maxima P1574, P0507, P1722, C1102, C1107, C1105. I know the C1102, 1105 and 1107 are ABS speed sensors. I had a new transmission put in 2 years ago as nissan said the transmission was bad. After they replace the transmission it turned out to be bad rear hub left side. I replaced that and ABS sensor. Also replace tire pressure guages in rear left and had the ABS reawaken. After that the car went into limp mode. I had the rear abs disconnected and it resolved the issue temporary. Rear Abs is still unhooked which is why the C1102 and C1105 codes come up. I replaced the C1107 as this was front right sensor. When driving down the road, the BRAKE light illuminates on dash and the odometer stops working and the speedometer drops to 0. The car didnt loose power. Yesterday the car lost power, brake light came on and speedometer said I was going 40 but in reality I was going at tops 5. The rpm gauge would not go above 3000 rpms and the car sounded like it was stuck in gear. Any clues of wth is going on with the car? I am short on funds so having the dealer ship fix just isnt in my budget at this time and since the last time they said it was the transmission and yet it was a hub, I cant go that route at this point. HELP PLEASE?

Unfortunately there are some test that needs to be done in order to properly diagnose the problem. Looks like the vehicle goes into fail safe mode, but there are too many components that can cause that problem. My suggestion is to have an independent shop inspect and diagnose the problem.
-
i have these codes p0420, p0720, p1574 what do you suggest to do how can i search the sensor
-
i have these codes p0420, p0720, p1574 what do you suggest to do how can i search the sensor
where is located these sensor and how it looks like
-
What model and year is your Nissan?
The P0420 code it's not related to the the P0420 and P1574 codes -
Is it 2.5L engine or 3.5? what sensor did you replaced? speed sensor? On you 2003 Nissan Altima, the speed sensor it's called "Revolution Sensor".
-
Its a 2.5L engine i havent replaced any sensor yet because i don't know which one i have to remolcar if you now let me know which one i have to replace
-
Change the revolution sensor. Location on this page: https://www.autocodes.com/p07...
-
For the P0420 code you probably have to replace the Catalytic Converter. For the P1574 you could start by changing the Revolution Sensor. The link above is for a page that shows the location of the Revolution Sensor.
-
excuse me i got a question to be clear!
the codes P1574 and P0720 has to be with the revolution sensor too? and its the revolution sensor the same as vehicle speed sensor? if they the same let me know please im confused and i believe that are two sensor in other to change -
I had the codes PO500, P1212, P1574 and U1001. What is the best suggestion I should do as far as trying to get my vehicle fixed? It is showing to be a vehicle speed sensor, ASCD Vehicle speed sensor and something to do with a TCS sensor or something? I am mechanically challenged so I have no idea what any of this means.
-
Are there any other symptoms? Looks like at some point the Engine Control Module (ECM) lost the communication with the ABS control unit. You could start by inspecting the ABS control unit connector. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the connector. Sometimes rust gets built up over the connector pin.
-
Where exactly would this connector be at? Im not sure what to look for. But yes I have several different things going on all at once. The VDC Off light is on, Brake light is on, Slip light and the tire light along with the engine light are all on. When I go to hit the brakes, it sounds like a spring or something and then it sounds like there is some hard grinding going on when I release the pedal. The speedo works when it wants to, will come on while I'm driving and sometimes it'll display my actual speed and sometimes it will just jump around. It's been like this for about 2 weeks now. I'm just curious as to how and where the connector is that I need to unplug or whatever I need to do to it.
-
The connector is at the ABS control unit, and the ABS control unit is next to the brake fluid reservoir.
-
I have a 2007 nissan versa. It gives the p1574 code with car runnning. You can put the gas pedal to the floor and it wont rev. If you put the car in any gear it wont go. Can anyone help fix this problem?
-
The P1574 code is related to the ASCD (automatic Speed Control Device) (Cruise Control) and it will not cause a engine or transmission performance problem. The P1574 code is trigger because you have another problem with your vehicle, like a bad transmission.
-
Nissan X-trail 2003 with 2.5L. every now and then it will not shift out of first gear. If I turn the car off and restart it usually resumes working perfectly. Seems to be worse when it is raining. The only code is P1574.
-
nissan maxima 2002 with these codes P0507, P1612, P0717, P1574. am i correct in thinking these codes originate from the same defective part? what do these codes mean? how can i fix them? it is an automatic transmission.
-
Please double check the codes numbers. The P0507 and P1574 codes could be related to the vehicle speed sensor, but there is no information about the other 2 codes in the factory service manual.
-
2005 Nissan Altima 4cyl, 2.5, automatic. P1574, no other codes, no check engine light, transmission does not shift.
what is most likely problem?
thanks. -
The P1574 is for the ASCD (automatic Speed Control Device) (Cruise Control) and there is nothing on the service manual that indicates that the code is related to the transmission. I suggest to look for something else (e.g. transmission fluid) or have a transmission shop to check the transmission.
-
Thank you. I just flushed the trany and change the fluid. It stays in 2nd gear and doesn't shift up. Any guess on the likely cause of the transmission failure?
-
Unfortunately it's very possible that you have a mechanical transmission problem.
-
The 2003 Nissan Altima 2.5 has an Input & Output sensor. I have the codes p0720 &
p1574. I assume replacing one of these sensors will fix my codes.

Hi i have nissan qashqai on the speed metre its showing bit up speed for example if im going on 80 km/hr its show me 110 km hr its 30 numbers up all time even if car is stop car show 30 speed on metre
-
i have a 2007 nissan altima with the codes p0710, p1715, p1574. Does that mean that I will have to get a whole new transmission?
-
Any other symptoms? have you tried clearing the code? There are some test that needs to be done to determine exactly what the problem is, but due to the age of your Altima the chances that you have to replace the transmission are very high.
-
Hello I have a 2005 nissan altima. If I start and take off it goes and shift normally. But if I come to a complete stop and try to go again the transmission dosemail not shift out of first gear. Can anybody help with some advice?
-
Are there any more code besides the P1574 code?
Have you checked the transmission fluid level?
The P1574 code has nothing to do with the transmission performance.
-
I have 2004 Nissan Sentra 1.8 L went to O'Reilly engine light ON codes ar P2500/P1574 & said fuel level sensor just need suggestions what to so I can get car inspected thanks
-
I'm not sure what the P2500 code is, there is no information in the factory service manual about that code. Do you have any other symptoms?
Youc could start by clearing the codes, drive your vehicle for a couple of days and check what code comes back first. -
i got this codes P1574 & P0720 for my Nissan Maxima 2003 GLE, i changed the speed sensor(P0720), but still my cruise is not working so can u suggest me how to fix the p1574 code.
-
Any other symptom? Is the speedometer working? looks like the Engine Control Module (ECM) is not detecting or receiving the signal from the speed sensor. You could have a broken or loose wire from the sensor the Transmission Control Module (TCM) or to the Combination Meter.
-
Yes speedometer is working good, but I bought this speed sensor on online for like 20$, So now I am thinking of getting a good brand sensor from auto store which was around 125$ and give a try.
-
i got these codes p1212, p1168 and p1574 on my car today. not sure if the speed sensor has something to do with it. abs, slip traction light comes one then goes off occasionally. i also get a AT check light that flashes but after turning off the car everything goes back to normal
-
Let me check if I can find more information. What model and year is your Nissan?
-
For the P1574 code the most common problem is the Vehicle Speed Sensor, for the P1212 is the Camshaft Position Sensor, and the P1168 is for the Oxygen Sensor. In theory non of the codes are related, but what is triggering the ABS, SLIP and Traction lights is the P1212.
Some of the common problems for the P1212 is low battery charge or problems with the ABS control Module.
Start by checking the battery charge, if the battery is OK, try disconnecting and reconnecting the ABS Control Module. Sometimes the connector develops rust on the connector pin and cause a poor connection.
The ABS Control Module is attached to the ABS Actuator, under the Brake Master Cylinder.

On your vehicle the Speed Sensor is called "Revolution Sensor" Here is the best image I got.

Went to the auto parts store and my battery was bad but after installing I drove the car for 15 min and the abs came back on. What I also notice that my speedometer stop working but the car is still running and shifting strong
-
Sounds like you had more than one problem. Your next step is the speed sensor (Revolution Sensor)
-
I just got both sensors today that's my next step. Only code I'm getting now is U1001
-
That code can be tricky. In theory is set by poor communication between control units, but some times is set when the body grounds are not making good contact. Try removing the screws and clean the wires of the all the ground you can see and make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight.
Here is an example of body grounds:
