i had a reading done on my 09 Altima it said the code P0826 how do you fix it?

My Nissan 2010 rattles when i come to a full stop while the car is still in drive. The rattle isn't very heavy but it is very noticeable compared to when I first bought it. Since it is still under warranty with the dealership, I figured I'd have it checked out. I took it twice and they've told me both times that nothing was wrong. I thought something was up, so I took it to a friend who is a mechanic and he did a check. This is the code that he received when he put it on the machine. He says that they may not want to fix it due to costs, especially because it is still under warranty. Can you tell me how much the cost of the part alone would be?

What model is your Nissan? the price depends on the model.
Usually the dealer will fix anything under warranty. The factory it's a different company than the dealer, so is in the best interest for the dealer to perform any repair possible.
The switch that triggers this code should not cause any drivability or performance problems. The switch is the one that read the position of the shifter.

I have a nissan maxima 2010 model the car suddenly stopped moving after the red light went green I barely moved after a couple of tries mayb 10km/h, i sent it to the dealer and they ran a scan on it and it gave the following faults: P0746, P0826 and fluid pressure low. They said the transmission needs changing and would cost 10,000 $ with labour charges, which is a rip off I live in qatar so the extended warranty doesnt apply here.

Is it possible that just the fluid is dirty and needs changing or the pc solenoid need changing?? Can u help?

You should definitely start by changing the transmission fluid.

Unfortunately we don't have the price of the repair, it depends where you do it (dealer or independent shop) and what exactly is the problem (harness problem or the shifter assembly).

It means that the switch in the shifter assembly is working properly. You may have to replaced the shifter. The Manual Mode Switch is inside the shifter unit. Could be expensive, depends where you do the repair. Prices vary depends where you live too. My best guess around $400

i have a 2012 nissan altima, the vehicle sometimes stalls when you drive faster than 60mph , i took it to auto zone and they did a scan and came up with 11 codes including C1130/P0725/P0744/P0826/P0868/P0101 , is there any common part that causes all those errors ?

I have been having the same problem intermittently for over a year. It can not happen for months but then happen again. Usually when I pull over and turn off the car and then turn it back on after 5 minutes it goes away. But today it took about 5 times before it went away. It is like I'm not able to accelerate when I'm driving but you can tell the engine is working hard. I always use the automatic transmission mode instead of that optional manual mode. So I went and got the P0826 code also (I believe that was the code #) but that is all I got.

That is what I had today. Do you know if it is $450 like you said above or someone above said $10K so that seems like a lot. I've had this problem of it happening intermittently and need to decide if I'm going to get it fixed or trade it! I'm glad to have found the issue after this happening but it is freaking me out if it is going to be expensive or not! Thanks,

I don't recommend buying that vehicle. Fixing the may require working or replacing on the transmission control module, which is inside the transmission and can get expensive to repair.

Covered but I had to make a big stink about it and show them the recall. My 2008 car actually fell in "2003-2010 Vehicles equipped with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) also have a 10-year /120,000 mile CVT limited warranty extension."

Cooler assembly thingy was done. Since I don't trust the Altima anymore, I haven't put it into a situation where it might fail again (eg. highway driving for 60+ minutes and 90+ degrees outside). So I don't know if it fixed it but I do know that I haven't seen LIMP mode again because of my avoidance (I had seen it twice before and Nissan misdiagnosed it until I brought NTB13-079 to their attention). Also now the car is beyond the warranty so I am not interested in testing to see if Nissan will honor their CVT warranty for a problem that was not corrected properly during the warranty.

By any chance are you driving for a long period of time (60+ minutes and highway driving) in extremely warm temperatures?

I did do a lot of highway driving. I went to the dealership and they said my fluids needed changing. I spent $350 plus a rental... It worked again for about 2 months, no problems THEN IT DID IT PERMANENTLY... TRANS MISSION went out. $4300 to fix it. I traded it and I"m sick. I was one car payment away from it being mine!

Also, I did a little checking before I gave up on getting it repaired. Evidently there made the equivalent of disposable transmissions for a few years. so if I went to an auto mechanic where the labor was cheaper, they still had to buy an entire transmission from Nissan versus fixing it.

You may have two different problems. Do you have any other symptoms? have you tried clearing the codes?

For the P0826 code the problem is usually the Manual mode select switch (Built into control device, shifter)

i have not cleared the codes. i also did use a big scanner not a small one. the manual shifter works. Should I try to clear the codes? the only thing that the car is doing is that it shifts are higher rpm like at 4-4500 rpm

The problem with the transmission shifting at higher RPM is probably related to the P1722 code, but unfortunately it may require further diagnose to find out exactly what the problem is. Eventually you will have to take it to the shop for inspection. The worst thing that could happen is that you vehicle may stop moving. The cost depends on what the shop finds, unfortunately, I don't have that information.

Maybe it’s just a sensor?
