I have a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue with TCC solenoid codes , first time scanned I got PO 742 then I cleared that code . Drove the vechicle and then codes PO756 & PD756 came back and no more PO 742 . I dropped the transmission pan , ( no excessive metal particles were present ) fluid was smelling burnt but not Dark ! Will cleaning the valve body with Brake parts cleaner ( without removing the valve body ) possibly remedy the sticking solenoid's ???

On 99 grand prix gtp 3.8 SC transmission starts and stays in second gear, fluid is red and not burnt. code says performance solenoid stuck in off position..Any ideas? ground wire or solenoids?

It wasn't the shift solenoids replaced them all..It was starting off in second gear and staying there..Third time on taking the side cover off, took the valve body off and low and behold the little orifice (hole) in the valve body spacer plate was plugged completely up..finally got the tip of a needle through it.cleaned the smaller holes with the needle, ran it under hot water, dried it good, reinstalled it, when i got everything back together, filled with fluid, shifted like a new one..So GM's tech bulletin was correct.
