Code P0302 Infiniti Description

When a misfire occurs, engine speed will fluctuate. If the engine speed fluctuates enough to cause the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor signal to vary, the Engine Control Module (ECM) can determine that a misfire is occurring. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set when the Engine Control Module monitors the crankshaft speed and has detected that engine cylinder #1 is misfiring.

  • I have a infinity 2003. I had the P0302 I changed the 2cylinder and everything was good until the check engine light turn on and now the P0430 popped up. The P0430 code is set when the ECU detects below threshold performance from the catalytic converter.

    Correct, but before replacing the catalytic converter, try clering the code and using high octane gas for a couple of weeks.
