Code U114D Chrysler Description

The Body Control Module (BCM) has lost communication with the Hands Free Release Module (HFRM). The BCM and HFRM communicate through a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) bus. The code sets when the BCM does not receive messages from the Hands Free Release Module for more than 7.5 seconds while the ignition is ON and system voltage is within the normal operating range. When this fault is present, hands-free liftgate functions may become inoperative.

The fault may be caused by a loss of power or ground to the Hands Free Release Module, a LIN bus communication problem, poor electrical connections, or an internal failure of the HFRM. In rare cases, a fault in the Body Control Module (BCM) may prevent communication with the module.
