The tensioner mounting blot on the altenator broke and the battery indicator light came on as well as the engine light. The bolt was repalced and the alternator worked again but the battery light would not go out. The alternator was checked by O'rielly auto parts service man and was deemed to be functioning properly, but the battery light remained on. Voltage output remains at 14.2-14.3 consistantly and amps functuates with draw as normal! I took the car to the dealership and they put it on their diagnostic machine andtold me I had a bad alternator, so I took the car back to the first mechanic and had a new alternator put in to the car, this did not solve the problem. I then took the vehicle (2005 Honda Civic LX four door)t a local reputable automotive electrical company and was also told the the alternator was OK, but the computor was not reading it as working. Is there a reset code that the dealership has that can correct this problem?

Vehicle: 2005 Honda Civic LX 1.7 liter 4 cyl.

I think the problem is that your car doesn't work.
