P0505 NISSAN - how do i change the idle control value

we took our 2000 nissen xterra for a inspection sticker and it failed for P0505 and the man there told me this code meant i needed to clean or change my idle control value. so i was just wonderin how do i clean or change the idle control value

Removing and cleaning the valve it's a bit difficult. You should try adjusting the engine idle first and clearing the code.
