P0340 FORD - After replacing the sensor, I still get the same code, I don't see any breaks in the wiring either, it sounds like a diesel and I hear a "pop" occasionally. Help?

This sounds like you have an actual timing issue. The code is there because the timing is off. The sensor will not resolve this because it's a mechanical issue. You need to have a compression test done.
