P0550 NISSAN -

2003 Maxima -- I have neither the service engine soon light on, nor do I have a power sterring problem. However, I checked the codes and a P0550 shows up on my scanner. Could there be any other reason for this code?

You don't necessary have to have a problem with the power steering system, the code means that the signal send from the power steering pressure sensor to the engine control module (ECM) it's not what the ECM is expecting. You could have a fault power steering pressure sensory.
