I am getting code P1448 and P0340...was told it would be $191 parts and labor to fix the P0340 code and a WHOPPING $619 to fix the code P1448
Does this sound right to anyone?

P0340=camshaft position sensor circuit bank 1
P1448= EVAP canister vent control valve (open)

in doing some research, I understood the P1448 code to have something to do with a loose gas cap???
Then hearing a $619 price ....WOW!
Please help me with any info that can help as I really don't have that kind of money

Vehicle: 203 Nissan Altima SL, 2.5 engine

P1448 - The loose gas cap is a different code.

the possible causes are

- EVAP control system pressure sensor and the circuit

- Blocked rubber tube to EVAP canister vent control valve
- EVAP canister vent control valve
- Water separator
- EVAP canister is saturated with water

most likely the EVAP canister needs to be replaced, but that is more for SMOG reasons. If you dont need to have the car smog'ed soon you can wait a little

P0340=camshaft position sensor circuit bank is about one hour labor and the part is probably like $50
