P0420 MAZDA -

Question

I get this code PO420m on a 99 mazda miata.The car runs fine but it has a stong smell like burn electric ,one person said smells like ,when they used to butcher pigs on the farm and scald them.,It come from under the hood but can't find anythihg . Any help? thanks Lee

This code is for a faulty catalytic converter. If the converter isn't working properly, then you can get some bad smells, but also if there is an exhaust leak you can get this code. A bad rear O2 sensor will also cause this.
