2001 Nissan Maxima will not learn idle air volume after changing IACV

If you cannot set the idle after changing the IACV valve, then more than likely the old valve damage the Engine Control Module (ECM). It's a very common problem with the Maxima, when the IACV valve fails, it overheats the wires from the IACV valve to the ECM and that burns the ECM. Check if the ECM smells, if it does then you may have to replaced the ECM as well.
