The code is for the bank 1 O2 sensor, sensor #1. This really could be the result of the engine not running properly instead of the sensor causing the issue. I would start by checking for intake manifold vacuum leaks. You can do this by spraying carb cleaner along the intake while the car is running, if the speed increases or the idle smooths out, then you have a leak.
