You need to check if you have a filler tube or not.

If the transmission on your Jetta has a filler tube, here is the image:

If the transmission on your Jetta does not have a filler tube, you need to fill the fluid with a pump. Remove the drain plug from the pan and fill the fluid with a pump until the fluid reaches the overflow tube. Here is the image:
