does code P0343 camshaft sensor bank 1 has anything to do with transmission?

i have a 2001 BMW X5 4.4L i been having some problems with transmission on gear 2 and 3 and that happens only sometimes, and at the same time check engine came on code P0343 Camshaft sensor. does this sensor has anything to do with my transmission acting up sometimes? please advice.

Hi there

This shouldn't have any affect on the transmission.There are some issues with the transmissions on these I suggest contacting the dealer as there might be an update for the computer on it.
