My car was diagnosed with a p0744 code, the check engine light was on after a trip of 5 hours, I kept using the car and 2 days later the check engine light went off, what could it be?

Hi there,

This code is for an issue with the torque converter solenoid. It's working intermittently. The fact that the light went out on it's own means the solenoid is working like it should again. Here is some more info on the code.

Thank you! It helped a lot.
They told me that they need to change the cvt transmission because of that.
Do you think I really need to change it?

A mechanical issue could cause the code and would require replacing the transmission. Since it's not a constant issue I would suspect it's an electrical problem. However, if they tested it and diagnosed it as a mechanical failure then the transmission would have to be replaced. If that is the case I would run it until it won't run any longer if it's not under warranty.
