On my 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4L, where is the coolant sensor located? engine overheating sometimes

Here use this diagram , If the engine overheat sometimes the radiator fluid level need to be properly filled, Most of the time when there is a intermittent over-heating condition the operation of the cooling fan should be checked, where your at the temperature where the engine is running hot the cooling fan should be on if not, this would be the cause of temperature over heat
