I just changed my Cam position sensor on my 97 bmw z3 as I had an original p0335 code. I couldnt over rev the engine without getting the po335 code but ran ok. after changing the cam position sensor, I am now getting a very rough running engine and/or eratic no idle and receiving a p0100 code. I did try to clean the throttle body with sea foam while I had the intake removed and also cleaned and oiled the K&N air filter during installation. i reset both codes and current no codes but runs and idles like crap. I havent taken it out of the driveway since the change. any thoughts?

Hi there

First, the P0335 is for a problem with the crank sensor, not the cam sensor. This could be part of the problem. The second code is for the mass air flow sensor. Its possible the sensor is burned out and it would cause a searching or rough idle. Especially if it burned out because the oil from the air filter got on it. I would consider replacing the maf to start with here.
