can very noisy dual mass flywheel case eronous readings by a crankshaft sensor ?

Polo 1.9 TDI with an ATD engine .It cuts out at times while driving.It will stard difficultly at times,Wiring was asessed and sensor replaced,Problem still persists

Hi there

Normally this would not cause the code, the tone ring is around the outside, but, it's possible there is some type of issue where it's coming apart and if it's making noise, it should be checked to make sure it's not the issue.
