Does a dtc of P0014 mean that the VVL cover needs to be replaced?

Question

I have a 2008 Infiniti ex35. 10 days ago the check engine light went on.  Still drove great. Took it to
Infiniti and they said I need to replace the VVL cover .. Whatever that is... Before taking to Infiniti I took it to autozone for a code check and the only  code that came up was p0014... Infiniti has not given me the codes they got... But they want $2200 to replace the "VVL cover"

P0014 Exhaust valve timing control Bank 1

If  this codes is set and there is a camshaft sprocket noise they may have detected a timing chain with the problem
