P1740 FORD -

Question

i have a 2000 ford explorer sport....lately the overdrive on/off light started flashing after driving awhile....now it seems like its out of gas or fuel filter problem...after putting it on a scanner code p1740 comes up as transmission system problem....otherwise it drives and shifts fine...whats up?

What make and model is your Ford? The P1740 just means that there is a problem with the transmission. You now need another type of scanner that can access the transmission codes and get more information.
