On my 2006 Mercedes Benz CLK 500, the gears did not shift after changing the alternator

On my 2006 Mercedes Benz CLK 500 Convertible, the gears did not shift after changing the alternator and I got the engine code P0600 what can I do?

P0600 Loss of serial communication link

After changing the alternator , and no gear change, this would result in a fault with the electronic selector level module at the floor shift. This a fused protected module, check the fuses for this , its also relay controlled.
