my check engine came on my 03 subru baja I relaced fuel cap but lite is
still on .some body told me now the computer needs to be reset. is this true.the code iam receving ispo442

P0442 Evaporative emission control system leak detected (small leak)

Yes this is true , when the CK ENG LT comes on you reset or clear the code using a scam tool. Or if the ECM does not see a fault within 40 ignition start ups the ECM as long as he fault is corrected will reset itself.
