If you change the sensor for code P0707 and the light comes back on what else could be the issue?

The code came up this am I was in the shop all day they changed the transmission range sensor.  I didn't make it back home before the check engine light came back on

P0707 TR out of range, short circuit or sensor

Did you use the tool for the alignment ? If the tool was used to align the sensor , this is a wiring problem. and no one would be surprised if the ECM is faulty ( the ECM is no longer in production)
