P1217 Nissan - 2007 xterra

Question

How much does it cost to fix this problem. Also, does this problem cause the vehicle to jerk once it starts to reach 2 on the tachometer and problems with the vehicle to start. If not, please let me know what THAT could mean as well. Thank you

P1217 Engine over temperature

This code if it set with a U1000 , your suppose to do the U1000 first this is the CAN communication line dealing with the instrument panel and the ABS system, So yes these code will cause the symptom that you experience, As a rule check the cooling system for coolant leakage and resolve those issue especially the operation of the cooling fan, This code is not a easy fix as there are other factor that has to be looked into .
