P0456 Ford - 2002 RANGER

Question

i Have a 2002 ford ranger 3.0L, Eng.light came on twice both with codes po456. I clear the code, reseated the gas cap and go the same results.  Should I just get a gas cap and see if it fixes the leak?

P0456 Evaporative emission system (small leak detected)

That should be the first step, it not worth the price to have the fuel cap tested, fuel cap seal do wear out.
