2002 Mercury Sable V6 with engine code P1401. Can this drain my battery?

Hi there,

This code is for the DPF sensor reading out of range. This sensor would not cause the issue. Basically in most cases the sensor is replaced to resolve the issue. This is part of the egr system so you would also want to check and make sure the tube to the egr is not plugged and also the catalytic converter is not broken or cracked. As for draining the battery, it won't cause a battery drain.
