P0837 - 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport

Question

Got a CODE P0837 & P0442.
Noticed my "4-Wheel Drive" light goes ON and OFF when I do not have it shifted into 4-Wheel High (I have to pull-up on the transfer case lever). When I have it in 4-Whee Highl, the light never goes ON. I ordered and have the "Service Manual - Liberty" from the DaimlerChrysler Corp. I know there is a cable that goes into the transfer case(a certain distance) and maybe that is the CODE P0837 ? It needs to be removed and measured when re-inserted? Not a lot of room btwn the connector and bottom of floor.
The CODE P0442 has to do with the Evaporative emission system. Per the manual, could be a multitude of items. Is it associated with the "Leak Detection Pump Monitor"? This one has me perplexed.
I know my way around vehicle systems. Doing a frame-off restoration of a '81 T/A Bandit.
