P0117 Jeep -

Question

My 02 jeep liberty, has the code p0117 , it has a miss and blows white smoke out of the tail pipe until it warms up  , changed temperature control senor same problem. Doesn't like to idle either  .

P0117 Engine coolant temperature sensor circuit low

When the temperature of the engine rises the coolant temperature sensor goes low, the lower the hotter, If the engine has overheated you would need to do a mechanical check such as a head gasket , either a leak down test of the cylinder or a compression test for each cylinder
