One day I started the car and it seemed to be idling kinda rough. Didn't think anything of it. It was running good when the car was moving so figured maybe bad batch of gas or something that'd go away. The next day I started the car and the check engine light had come on but it was idling smoothly, not rough like before. So I decided to take the car to auto zone to have them hook up the diagnostic computer to my car. It read a code that said it was the oxygen sensor on bank 1. The guy from auto zone didn't know where it was located on my car. Then the next day I started the car again and the check engine light was gone and it's running fine. But I was curious to know where the oxygen sensor for the 1st bank was located on my car? If you could maybe send me a diagram on where it's located that would be greatly appreciated so I don't have to overpay for a garage to fix it.
My car is a 2002 Chrysler 300M. It is a 3.5 liter, 24 valve, high output V6 motor.
Thank you for your time.
Bank 1 is where cylinder 1 is located at, the other side becomes Bank 2, As for sensor, Sensor 1 is the upstream 02 sensor , Sensor 2 are the downstream 02 sensor this is the catalytic monitor sensor.
use this conventional diagram as it is valid for a Chrysler 3.5 Cylinder 1 is on the right side., right side is Bank 1
