2000 Dodge Durango 4.7. Code p-1594.. What causes that?

Dodge Durango 2000 4.7.Replaced pcm in 1/2015 because of code saying faulty. March replaced alternator, was told it was bad. Having issues with charging gauge, it will be fine, then pegs out at 18, comes back to normal, or gets hot and can't restart for a while. Code p-1594 comes up. What causes that? Help!

The battery temp sensor can cause this as well as the wiring to the alternator from the computer. The PCM regulates the voltage. Bad wiring or a bad battery temp sensor can cause this type of issue
