Had the p2111 code after engine RPM loss and no throttle response. Powertrian failure was displayed on the dash along with the illuminated gold wrench, followed by the check engine light. After restarting it, everything went away with the exception of the check engine light. It drove fine for a couple miles before it did it again but this time, no powertrain failure message. Had it towed home. Later that day I went to move it and the the battery was dead. I charged it and let it sit. A few hours later it was dead again. The battery tested bad. After replacement of the battery, the code is cleared and there are no driveability issues. Will a low voltage issues cause the p2111 code and driveability issues I experienced?

Hi there,

It can cause it because the low voltage to the throttle assembly will cause the computer to set the truck into failsafe. Once the battery was replaced and back up to full power the issue no longer existed.
