p0171 code 1998 Ford Contour 2.0L

Question

I have a 98 contour that has P0171 code and it had a rough idle and poor acceleration but it would stay running. I changed the MAF sensor because it was dirty had had some major build-up. The car instantly idled fine and when I test drove it the acceleration was very good but the car would stall without any warning like sputtering or choking. No additional codes have shown up. Any solutions would be very appreciated.

P0171 Fuel trim lean Bank 1

1998 Ford does not have to set a code when you stall out, If you have a P0171 check the PCV hose this hose tends to collapse and affect the MAF operation , Just any vacuum leak especialy at the throttle body to the MAF air duct will affect the perfromance of the MAF.
