P0720 Mercedes-Benz -

Question

I have a 01 mb c320...Check engine light remains on, but then the ABS light comes on....then eventually go off.....As I'm driving, the ABS light comes on, speedomoter drops down to "zero", and transmission will not shift. It will remain in the gear that it was when the light goes on..When I come to a stop, with the ABS light on, the car will remain in whatever gear it was last....I have to put the shifter in the park position, turn off the ignition in order for the transmission to go back into first gear......When I accelerate, (with the ABS light still on) the car will remain in first gear. Eventually, the abs light will go out then the car will finally shift.....then when the ABS light comes back on again, it will remain in whatever gear it was in.....Can I fix the problem myself? ..I scanned for the problem and get a PO720 code.....is it an easy fix?......please reply...Thanks

HI there

This code is for the output shaft speed sensor. In most cases the sensor is the cause of the issue although you could possibly have a problem with the wiring.
