I have a 2001 Xterra, XE, V-6, 3.3 litre, 4x4. SES light has been on for a year now. Code is P-0335, crankshaft position sensor. Where exactly is it located? What is the best way to change it out myself and do I need any special tools? Thanks

Hi there,

This doesn't require any special tools, it is located on the driver side of the bell housing on the transmission. It's a real pain to replace, there is a bracket that has to come off that holds the wiring harness for the sensor and for one of the O2 sensors. The worst part is getting to it, you have to do it from the top, basically sitting on the engine
