random problems shifting stopping lack of power.. also random other codes in gear ratio etc.. could this be a faulty tcm

This could be a faulty tcm or an actual issue with the transmission. Depending on the other codes that are being stored. It is likely worthwhile to drop the pan and check the condition of the fluid and see if there are any metal shavings inside.
