P0171 Hyundai -

Question

My 2006 Hyundai Tuscon is starting to stall and hesitate while I am driving especially in the hot weather. Does this narrow the problem down? A diagnostic from Autozone pulled up a p0430 code and a p0171. Any suggestions . thanks

HI Robert,

You may have a plugged up converter. When this happens it can cause a lean code because the exhaust is being pushed back into the engine. I would remove the front o2 sensor on bank 2 and see if there is any improvement with the way the car runs and then take it from there. The 171 code can also be caused by a faulty mass air flow sensor or any intake manifold leak so check those as well.
