Question

Does P1684 have the same meanings for a Chrysler PT Cruiser (2001) ?

PT engine is mis-firing while crusing at constant speed. Getting these four engine codes: p1984, p320, p300 and p1391.

Had the same symptoms, engine codes and issues last year. After replacing the Cam Sensor AND the Crank Sensor the symptoms continued. Finally, a different garage said the problem was a shorting wire harness and the problem disappeared. At least it did for about 9 months, now it's doing the same thing again.

Took it back to the same garage and they now say, oh no this is different: They say the p1684 engine code means that the TCM is failing -- which is an expensive repair.

BUT -- the symptoms and engine codes are identical to when this happened last year.

What may be going on here?
