HOW DO I KNOW WHAT TO CHECK FOR THE P0440 DIAGNOSTIC PROBLEM?

This is a very broad code. It's kind of a catch all for the evap system. Basically the computer knows there is a problem but it doesn't know where. Usually the best place to start is with a smoke test to make sure there isn't any leak any place, then work your way down the solenoids.
