P0300 Acura -

Question

My acura RL 98 keeps on turning off, i already change fuel filter, spark plugs, battery, fuel pump, i dont know what to do now i really need help, PLEASE

P0420 Catalyst system below threshold Bank 1

P1201 Cylinder 1 misfire detected

P0300 Random misfire

P1791 VSS (vehicle speed sensor)

P1457 EVAP purge control solenoid valve

Does the speedometer work? if it does disregard P1791. If it does not check the VSS for disconnection.To get to the cause of why the engine is shutting off. P0300 and P1201 has to be futhered investigated. P1201 can be caused by low compression,which will foul the sparkplugs, or can be caused by a faulty ignition coil. Swap ignition coil number 1 with a known working cylinder such as the one next to it

Swap ignition coil 1 with the cylinder next to it. Clear the code. If the misfire follows, replace the ignition coil.. If the engine shuts down or keeps turning off, check the ignition switch with the engine running slightly wiggle the ignition swtch if it turns off you found the problem. If it does not further investigation is needed. P1201 does not shut off the engine . randomly, ignition switch or the ignition control module can.
