1999 Chevrolet Astro 4.3L V6 with engine code P1870

Question

I purchased a vehicle from a car donation center in California and it will not pass smog it had code reading
P1870 is the donation center responsible for this repair

This code condition is mostly internal mechanical condition of the transmission. A donated vehicle is a high mileage vehicle. If you are a license dealer you bought it as is The donation seller does not have to disclose the reason the donor donated the vehicle. If you are a public buyer the donation center can only refund the money back to you, and they would not  be  have been able to smog the vehicle when the CK ENG LT  is on as it would cause it to fail.
