I have a P0449 P code. What does the "P" at the end mean?

I had a mechanic check the codes for my 2006 Chevy Avalanche.  It came up with two error codes. P0449 and P0449 P.  I'm wondering what this means.

We have never seen code ending with "P". Could be the type of scanner he is usign.
