I had a Check Engine Lite come on and got two codes with a scanner. P2293 and P0404. I have a W3500 GMC cab over 5.2 liter 4 cyl diesel. I put fresh fuel in and a fuel injector cleaner. The next day the code was gone. I didn't notice any lose of power or performance. Any idea's n what could have caused these codes.

P2293 Fuel pressure regulator pressure performance

P0404 Excessive high EGR

The cause for P0404 (excessive high EGR) is cause by P2293 . So you only have to deal with P2293.  Check to see if there is any fuel leaks , Have the code cleared this may have been caused by a intermittent condition such as water in the fuel tank, Unless you have a driviabilty concern or a lack of power or starting concern.
