P0455 Ford -

Question

I have a 2010 Ford Escape with a "cap free" filler. I have gotten the P0455 DTC 2 times within the past 3 weeks. If by what I'm reading from several sources says the problem is because of the cap itself being loose. How do I correct the problem then with the "cap free" filler system such as on my vehicle????? And can I expect an answer sometime in the next day or do I need to wait 2 years?

P0455 Evaporative emission system Leak detected (gross leak or no purge flow)

With the cap free filler (or known as the capless system)  this was warranty by Ford, what happens (form what they claim) is that debris settles under the cap free flap. If you have a cap free system it is under a warranty. The main cause of the problem is the fuel nozzles that are used, when extracting out the nozzle it binds the cap free system flap..
