Why does my odometer reset along with my heat. When I turn of the car.

After I put in a new starter my dash clock stopped working, and my trip odometer rest along long with my heat settings every time I turn off the car.

when you installed the started did you accidently touch the power cable to any metal that caused a spark?

you might have short somewhere in the harness. disconnect the battery for an hour or so and see if that resets it if not the harness will have to be checked.
