I have a 2004 jeep grand cherokee, with a 4.7 ! Runs good , transmission shit and drives good, but recently on my way home from work the engine light came on. Next morning I start the jeep and put it in drive and the jeep jerked a little bit and died, and it is still doing it, The engine light went out, but it is still dying when I put it in drive ! If i put it in neutral and rev it up just past 1 on the tach and put it in drive, it drives off just fine. I am getting the P0700 code ! can you Tell me a probable cause ?

P0700 Transmission fault detected, Mil light requested

When this code appear it is a informative code condition saying there is a transmission fault and it should be another code store as a DTC, The other code that is stored will help pin point the problem, The way the problem seems like is you may have a idle control problem where the RPM can not maintain its target idle when the engine is put into gear,
