2007 GMC Denali Envoy check engine light -not on

Question

I have a propane like odor coming from the engine? But just looking under the car their is no leak..can't test it to get a code.....engine light is not on?

Even if the engine ligth is not ON you can still check for codes. Not all the problems will set then engine ligh, some mechanical problems will no trigger the engine light. Propane like odors could be caused by exhaust leaks.
